Cumberland-Lincoln Community Chorus

Dr. William M. Jones, Director

Founded in 1971, CLCC is a mixed, intergenerational group of non-auditioned singers from RI and SE Massachusetts. With a rich heritage of community outreach, we perform an average of 25 concerts yearly at nursing homes, assisted living and public housing facilities, churches & community events.  The highlight of our year is the annual staged musical production held each spring. The repertoire we perform varies from classical to contemporary – with a fun mix of everything in between! CLCC also sponsors a Teen Apprentice program and awards a $500 scholarship every spring.

Accepting new members in January and September – all voices welcome; no audition required

A recent segment on National Public Radio's program "All Things Considered" noted the American public's increasing involvement in community choruses, and the happiness that comes from singing with others.

"Involvement in bowling leagues, bridge clubs, and other participatory groups has declined considerably in recent decades, but community choruses have bucked the trend. Commentator Michelle Mercer has noticed the connection between singing and happiness, as she shares in this postcard from her gleeful local chorus."
